  1. Spent 30 min or so continuing to reflect on your past experiences, paying most attention to your more recent jobs and the experiences that best represent the kind of work and/or career level that you are targeting.

To help with this, you can reference Formation's Engineering Level Descriptions.

  1. For each role, write down:
    • a short description of the team you were on
    • what was the business purpose or impact of the team
    • what did you work on?
    • how your work contributed to team's impact or purpose
    • any measurements or metrics about your work

Your notes on the above don't have to be pretty, but they will be a great starting point for working with a mentor to further develop and polish for integration into your resume.

  1. Your resume is easy to understand, so be clear and concise.
  2. Visually, it needs to be easy to quickly read and digest. Make sure that it is neatly organized and visually balanced.
